Katrina Kaif in ‘Dhoom 3’

After the confirmation of Aamir Khan as the negative protagonist in the third installment of the cult ‘Dhoom’ series, there are confirmed reports that Katrina Kaif will be the leading lady of the film. Sources close to the producers, Yash Raj Films, tell us that it was a tough call between three leading actresses of B-town: Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. Finally it was Kats who bagged the role. The heist film will release sometime in the winter of 2012. Even then, the hype over the film has already started to build up!
It’s in the news now that Aamir Khan will not charge his usual fee for ‘Dhoom 3’. Instead, he will be taking in 33% of the profits from the film! This is the first time in the history of Yash Raj Films that they have done a revenue sharing deal with an actor. There is little doubt that the film will be a runaway hit. Aamir has already praised the script written by Vijay Krishna Acharya. He also happens to be the director of the film. Known as Victor in the industry, his script was lauded by the Perfectionist as the best that he has read in the recent times. The founder of Yash Raj Films, Yash Chopra, added his voice to that of Aamir in singing paeans about the content they have on their hands.
‘Dhoom 3’ will cement Katrina’s place in Bollywood as a leading actress. She has been extremely lucky so far in this year. Her romance with Ranbir Kapoor is rekindled after a rough patch when he was getting cozy with his ‘Rockstar’ costar Nargis Fakhri. Ranbir is back with Katrina and the two of them spent a night together after attending Karan Johar’s birthday bash. They were spotted taking a ride in Ranbir’s red car and then having a cozy dinner. Finally they retired into Katrina’s pad.
