Salman Khan is not a star who’s always available, even if the producer happens to be his brother! That’s what Arbaaz Khan found out when Salman pushed back the work on ‘Dabangg 2’ because of date problems. Salman is a busier star today than he was a couple of years back. He has signed a spate of films and a couple of them, ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard’ are ready for release. He couldn’t make time out to shoot the sequel to the superhit ‘Dabangg’ during the first half of 2011. Arbaaz had little choice but to fall in with the wishes of his star-actor.
When ‘Dabangg 2’ got postponed, Arbaaz Khan wanted to start working on another film in the interim. But he decided not to because the pre-production work on ‘Dabangg 2’ will start off in September. As obvious, Arbaaz doesn’t want to pick up a subject now. He’s convinced that he cannot wrap it up by September. That will also dilute his concentration on the sequel. Of course, Arbaaz knows that ‘Dabangg 2’ will be a money spinner for sure! And he wants to make it bigger than the first edition. And he seriously can’t go ahead with the project without the man who made ‘Dabangg’ what it is: Salman Khan.
Nothing happens without some rumors on the side! When Salman Khan pushed back the date for ‘Dabangg 2’, the grapevine was abuzz with talks that the temperamental star had fallen out with the director of ‘Dabangg’, Abhinav Kashyap. There were reports that the two couldn’t see eye to eye on the project and Arbaaz was delaying the work on the sequel in a hope that he can sort out their differences. Salman himself denied the reports. We reckon that Salman must be grateful to Abhinav Kashyap for pulling him out of the doldrums his career was headed for!
