Katrina and Kareena Battle for ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’

You must often hear it being said that there is no shortage of work in Bollywood and actors can find enough projects if they are competent. But when it comes to the A-list projects, there is a crunch situation. The top grade actors stay in contention for these projects till someone is finalized. Some days ago we reported about the indecision over the lead actress in ‘Dhoom 3’. Now it’s Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ that has some problems in casting the leading lady. B-town scorchers Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are in the loop for the role.
The male lead of ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ is Sharman Joshi. He will be working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra again after the stupendous success of ‘3 Idiots’. The film will be directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar. When they began working on the script, Rajesh or Vinod did not have a leading lady in the screenplay. Then Vinod decided to hand over the script to Rajkumar Hirani. Hirani set aside his work for his next movie and took up the script. He added a character as Sharman’s reel wife. The wife appears in flashbacks in black and white print.
Rajesh Mapuskar wants to have Katrina Kaif in the role. He feels that she will look like the heroines of the black and white era. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rakjumar Hirani want Kareena to do it. They were much impressed with her after her stellar act in ‘3 Idiots’. Kareena stayed silent when she was asked about her interest in ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’. But she did send out positive vibes by reiterating how much she enjoyed working with the team of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She also mentioned that she got along famously with Madhavan and Sharman on the sets of ‘3 Idiots’. We feel the role is going to go Kareena’s way. What say?
