New York – Brides and bridesmaids need not look further for that majestic fall gown for the big day, as JLM Couture showcased their extensive line up on Tuesday, April 12, in New York. The bridal powerhouse's four subsidiary labels, Jim Hjelm, Alvina Valenta, Tara Keely, and Lazaro, all came through with high impact designs for Fall 2011.
Tiered tulle, crinkled chiffon and pretty petals are just a few of the elegant adornments that graced the runway with a floating butterfly illusion backdrop. Ball gowns with sweetheart necklines and sparkles and shimmer take a classic shape and make it fabulous. Chantilly lace and floral overlay straps were pure vintage romance.
Bridesmaids colors of the season are bold and beautiful in purple, a vivid olive green, graphite, merlot and peacock blues and greens. Some of the gowns are even versatile enough to sustain themselves long after the nuptials.
Smooth silhouettes were complimented with an extra bit of flounce on the floor when mermaid bodices took the stage, perfect for the long and lean. Brocade textures gave a sensual sense of touch to usually silky and soft material. With many head-turners in the collection, each gown will certainly have its own special moment with whichever type of princess that matches.
